Manicures withPrecision & Polish
A professional manicure is more than a coat of color. It is careful shaping, healthy cuticles and a finish applied with patience — for hands that feel as good as they look.
The Foundation
Classic Manicure
The classic manicure is the cornerstone of beautiful hands — a complete ritual that leaves nails neat, cuticles soft and color flawless.
Each classic manicure at 2H Nails follows a thoughtful sequence. We begin by removing any old polish and assessing the condition of your nails. Nails are then shaped, cuticles are softened and gently tidied, and the nail surface is lightly buffed to create an even base.
Hands are treated to a nourishing moisturizer and a soothing massage before the nail plate is cleansed and prepared for polish. The result is a manicure that looks clean and refined, whether you choose a bold shade or a soft, sheer finish.
- Polish removal and nail assessment
- Shaping to your preferred length and silhouette
- Cuticle softening and gentle care
- Hand moisturizing and massage
- Base coat, two thin color coats and top coat
Silhouette
Nail Shaping
The right shape balances your fingers, suits your lifestyle and helps nails stay strong. We file in one direction with a fine-grit file to reduce splitting, and we always check symmetry from multiple angles before moving on.
Square
Clean, straight edges with sharp corners.
Squoval
Square with softened corners — practical and classic.
Round
Follows the fingertip; great for shorter nails.
Oval
Softly elongating and timelessly feminine.
Almond
Slim sides and a soft peak for an elegant line.
Coffin
Tapered with a flat tip; popular with enhancements.
Stiletto
Dramatic and pointed; best on longer nails.
Short Natural
Low-maintenance and comfortable for busy hands.
Not sure which shape to choose? Shorter round and squoval shapes are practical for active hands, while almond and oval shapes create an elegant, elongated look. Coffin and stiletto shapes are usually best achieved with acrylic or gel enhancements.
Healthy Edges
Cuticle Care
Cuticles help protect the nail matrix — the area where new nail growth begins. Our approach is gentle by design: we soften the cuticle area, carefully push back the eponychium and remove only loose, non-living skin and hangnails.
Why we favor a gentle approach
Over-cutting can leave cuticles rough, uneven and prone to irritation. Softening, pushing and hydrating keeps the area smooth and creates a clean frame for your polish.

The Finish
Nail Polish Application
A beautiful polish finish depends on thin, even layers and patience between coats. Thick coats take longer to dry and are more likely to dent or peel.
Cleanse
Nails are wiped to remove oils so polish grips properly.
Base coat
A thin base protects the nail and helps color adhere.
Two color coats
Thin layers, edges capped, for rich and even color.
Top coat
Seals the color and adds a durable, glossy shine.
We also cap the free edge — sweeping polish lightly across the tip — which helps reduce early chipping.
Long Wear
Gel Manicure
A gel manicure follows the same careful preparation as a classic manicure, but color is applied in gel form and cured under an LED or UV lamp. It leaves the salon fully dry with a mirror-like shine that typically resists chips for longer.
| Feature | Classic polish | Gel polish |
|---|---|---|
| Drying | Air-dries; needs time to set | Cured under a lamp; dry immediately |
| Typical wear | Shorter; may chip sooner | Longer-lasting, high-shine finish |
| Removal | Easy at home with remover | Best removed professionally by soaking |
| Best for | Frequent color changes | Busy weeks, travel and special events |

Aftercare Tips
A few simple habits keep your manicure looking fresh for longer:
Do
- Apply cuticle oil daily
- Wear gloves for cleaning and dishes
- Reapply top coat every few days on regular polish
- Use the pads of your fingers, not your nails, to open and press
Avoid
- Peeling or picking at polish or gel
- Long soaks in hot water right after a regular manicure
- Using nails as tools to scrape or pry
- Harsh, drying hand sanitizers without moisturizing afterward

Questions
Manicure FAQ
A classic manicure is usually a relaxed, unhurried appointment, while gel manicures and nail art add extra time for application and curing. We will confirm timing when you book.
In most cases, no. Cuticles act as a protective seal for the nail. We gently push back and tidy only loose, non-living tissue, then hydrate the area with oil.
Of course. Short nails look polished and modern with a round or squoval shape and a well-applied color or a sheer, natural finish.
Gel itself is not harmful when applied and removed correctly. Damage usually comes from peeling gel off or aggressive removal. Book a proper removal and give nails care between sets.
Allow extra time before handling bags, keys or phones, avoid hot water for a few hours and add a fresh layer of top coat every few days to keep the shine.
